Evoz Vision Wi-fi Baby Monitor Review
In in our house we definitely LOVE technology. Becoming parents has not changed that. My toddler has her own tablet and knows how to get in and out of apps on our phones. When it comes to taking care of a newborn its all pretty grassroots stuff, a little back to the basics. But, there are a few categories that have gotten supped up with the tech. I have a pretty legit breast pump that gets the job done, thank God for tech on that one because hand pumping does not sound like my idea of fun. Then the next be piece of tech we rely on would definitely be the camera.
I have used a few different versions of baby cameras that have the handheld video monitor that you can have stay on constantly or give you and option just for sound. Some of the newer ones even give you an option to connect on wifi through you're phone but, overall I have been generally underwhelmed but these options. They tend to have to be replaced within a year or so because one part or another stops connecting or just fails inexplicably.
The Evoz camera has a really sleek and modern design that fits perfectly with the look of our house. It comes with two options for mounting, an adhesive much like a comand strip and then also anchors and screws for more permanent placement. You also have the option to place it on a shelf which is great if you want to adjust how much of the crib/room you are seeing as you little starts to move around more.
Currently we are using it with it placed on the side of the crib because the baby stays in one place right now, and it gives close up view so I can obsess over the raising and lowering of her chest in the middle of the night like every sane mom of a newborn. The clarity on the camera is amazing in day and night vision mode. I will note that we have a very high speed internet, 100 mbps, but I have not seen any lag in the video feed thus far. They make a pretty lofty claim here with the "patented cry sensor technology" but it does deliver. The only times that I have gotten a cry alert on my phone, the baby was actually crying. We are in and out of the room all day doing diapers and talking and hanging out with my older daughter and no false alarms. The baby does have to make more sound than one little squak to alert the camera though, you are able to chose a time frame for the crying to reach before you get the alert.
I think my favorite feature on the app though is the tracking. There is a place for tracking serveral different things for baby including feedings and diaper changings, then they are compiled for review. I am an obsessive tracker with my newborns, especially because they are breastfed it is very important to make sure that they are having enough dirty diapers and are on the breast enough times a day. The Evoz app makes it so simple for me to review everything in one place and also to share the information with my husband who is able to sign into the app on his own phone. Also to be noted you can give a nanny or caregiver access to the app but limit their accessablity so that they wouldn't be able to see the feed outside if the times that you approve viewing. How cool is that?
Overall I would say the Evoz camera is definitely a breath of fresh air in the baby monitor category. I did not think that I would be able to survive without having a constant live stream up on a handheld screen, but this hasnt bothered me in the least. I don't know if this feature would be available on all cell phones but, on my iPhoneX I have the ability to open the app in the background and then continue on to using other apps or turn off the screen all together and the audio on the camera still runs in the background. Additionally, if the app is left open with the camera on and set down it will continue to run/live stream and the screen will not turn on until you lock it.
It has only been a week with babygirl home using the camera actively but I love what I have seen. We all have our cell phones on us constantly so it just makes sense to couple the live stream into that rather that dragging the handheld monitor screen into every room with you. I think this monitor is going to be the perfect addition to our growing family and there are so many features on the camera or app that we haven't even tapped into yet, including articles from "The Sleep Lady."

I received the Evoz camera complimentary for my honest review of the product. Please know I would never advertise for a company that I did not believe in.
